Eosinophils Percentage

Eosinophil percentage shows what proportion of your total white blood cells are eosinophils, the specialist cells involved in combating parasitic infections and modulating allergic responses. Because eosinophils normally make up a small share of your white blood cells, even modest changes in their absolute number can shift the percentage noticeably. This proportion helps your healthcare team assess how active this particular branch of your immune system is relative to the others.

A higher eosinophil percentage may point towards an allergic response, seasonal sensitivities, or exposure to certain environmental triggers. A very low percentage is generally unremarkable, as eosinophils are naturally present in small numbers. Allergic conditions, seasonal factors, recent travel, medications, and changes in other white blood cell types can all influence your eosinophil percentage.
