Basophils Percentage

Basophil percentage indicates what proportion of your total white blood cells are basophils, the rare but important cells involved in inflammatory and allergic signalling. Because basophils normally represent such a small fraction of your white cells, this percentage is typically very low, and even minor numerical changes can appear as a noticeable shift. This proportion adds context to your basophil count by showing how it relates to the overall white blood cell balance.

A modestly elevated percentage may reflect an allergic response, a reaction to certain medications, or an inflammatory process. In most cases, small variations in basophil percentage are not a cause for concern given how few of these cells circulate at any one time. Allergic conditions, infections, inflammatory triggers, and fluctuations in other white blood cell types can all influence your basophil percentage.
